At Weinstein Jewelers of Novi custom jewelry design is not just something we “can do”, it’s our specialty and one of the cornerstones of our business. It is our belief that nothing is more special than bespoke jewelry custom made to suit your individual taste and style. The greatest honor is being brought into our clients lives by creating pieces of jewelry to earmark special milestones and occasions, we are truly honored by this privilege. We create these wearable works of art to be heirlooms so that they can be handed down and enjoyed for generations.
Recycling Your Unused Jewelry
As time goes on, we accumulate jewelry that we no longer wear, whether due to being dated, our personal tastes having changed, or we inherited jewelry that is not our taste or style.
We have the perfect solution for you to own a unique, affordable piece of jewelry, custom designed just for you.
Instead of trading in your old jewelry for scrap value, we will take in your old jewelry and/or metal, redesign around your Diamonds and Gemstones, then you will only be charged for the labor, any additional metal or stones needed, and a refining fee. This allows you to have a brand new, custom designed piece of jewelry made from pure casting grain in the alloy, karat, and color of your choosing.

Preserving The Memories
To preserve memories at the highest level of sentimentality we have a very special option, whether it is to memorialize a loved one or preserve the provenance of a specific item or occasion. For a small fee we will take the original jewelry items and precious metals and conduct a dedicated refining (That only contains your items) and bring those metals back to their pure state. From there we will custom alloy those metals to the karat fineness and color of your choice. By doing this your new design will be made from the exact same metal as the original items, the ultimate preservation of sentimentality.
The Custom Design Process
Initial Consultation and Design
A consultation appointment will be set up with you to meet with one of our designers free of charge. You will want to bring any pictures, design concepts, and your ideas along with any jewelry, metals, or gemstones you are considering utilizing for this project. Our designer will meet with you to learn about your taste, style, wants, needs and desires. This will allow them to come up with the perfect design to accommodate your taste and lifestyle. Once a design is decided on you will be given an estimate and upon approval of the estimate the next steps will begin.
After you approve the design and estimate, a three-dimensional wax model will be created for you. This process will take approximately two to four weeks depending on the complexity of the design and upon its completion an appointment will be set for you to view the model. If you want any changes to the model no matter how drastic up to a complete redesign this will be done as it is important to us that you love the design.
Once you approve the model you will be given the final cost and be asked for a deposit of 20% with the balance due on delivery. If you are doing a redesign, then your metal and gemstones can stand as the deposit on the piece. If you will be taking advantage of our 12-month interest free financing it is at this point that your application will be taken, submitted, and processed.
Final Processes
After the model approval your model will get any final adjustments and will be cast in the custom alloy(s) of your choice and any hand fabricated components will start being produced. The metals will be cleaned, polished, assembled and set. After final quality control is complete a full narrative insurance appraisal will be issued by our Senior Gemologist Appraiser written to the highest industry standards, so you can be properly protected in the event of an insurance casualty. The appraisal including its lifetime updates is included with all of our custom designs. Upon completion you will be called to let you know your beautiful creation is ready for pick up. This process will take approximately three to six weeks depending on the complexity of the design.
