Certified gemologist, entrepreneur, avid golfer, all around good guy and…actor.
Arsenic and Old Lace is a story of the Brewster sisters who get away with murder, right under the noses of unsuspecting and dim-witted police officers. In the play, Gary plays Dr. Herman Einstein, an unscrupulous plastic surgeon who helps people transform their appearances and identities.
And according to the Farmington Players blog, “Gary Weinstein IS Einstein.”
Tony Targan, fellow actor and the author of the blog post, notes that he has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Gary a few times and has “never met an actor who becomes his character so completely. His preparation begins the moment he sets foot inside…and he never breaks character until the final curtain.”
A man of many facets, Gary asserted, “I knew I was perfect for that role. I enjoy letting myself go in the development of the character and speaking with a pseudo-German accent. The challenge is to give myself the license to take ownership and development of the accent.”
